Meagan T. Gentry focuses on providing excellent client service and aggressive advocacy for each and every one of her cases. Meagan graduated magna cum laude and with Honors from Arkansas Tech University in Russellville Arkansas, where she also received awards, scholarships, and high honors for speech, debate, and creative writing. She received a Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law where she graduated with Honors and as a member of the Moot Court Advocacy Board. She won several awards for national Moot Court competitions across the country, including the National Top Oralist Award at the Wagner Labor and Employment Moot Court Competition in New York City.
Meagan passed the bar in Arkansas and worked at a small law firm right after graduating law school. She then moved on to work as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Little Rock, Arkansas, where she prosecuted numerous bench and jury trials. Meagan and her husband John moved to Charleston where Meagan passed the bar in South Carolina and began doing contract work while raising their two children at home. She then took a full-time job at the Public Defender’s Office in Charleston County where she handled hundreds of criminal defense cases per year. In 2015, Meagan left the Public Defender’s Office and started her own firm, focusing on litigation and trial practice. In 2018, Meagan won the Solo Attorney and Small Firm Section Award for the state of South Carolina.
Meagan enjoys volunteering for Lowcountry Orphan Relief and does weekly literacy tutoring with elementary school children through Reading Partners of South Carolina. In her spare time, Meagan enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, traditional archery and small game bow hunting, reading, writing children’s books, and playing the piano, ukulele, and harpsicle.
